Raised in Bronx, New York, Jersey borned Providence is on a mission to find himself in his journey with God. Real name David Figueroa, a typical childhood was out of his grasp due to a failing economy. The streets of New York were not a comfort as they provided violence an a atmosphere that can effect the young mind of a determined boy living in a shelter with a abusive father. Standing in line to gain an apartment for the night was a common task in David's young life as it resembles the heart touching "Pursuit of Happiness" movie. Growing up with no where to turn at time, a drunken father is enough to make many become a failing member of society, but David was shown a different path. Not wanting to be like his father, David,now known as Providence, wanted to make a positive impact on young adults, those who have been thru similar lifestyle and worse, becoming a symbol for hope and change when it seems to have disappeared....leading lives to Christ. Providence is currently working on his 1st EP, entitled "Pain B4 Progression" a story that outlines from the streets to Christ and all paths in between.His life is now a verbal novel to teach and inspire young adults like him, that there is another way, another life, another option than in the streets..Christ is that answer, that way, that option, and through his music, Providence will try to lead you there.
