First of all, I'm a Christian. That means I believe in the Christ of the Gospel, or Good News. What's the Good News?
First the Bad News (There's no good news without bad news.):
There is a Holy, Righteous God that created everything for His glory. He deserves our total obedience, devotion, and praise. However, we hate God and love to sin against Him, and His Law (The Ten Commandments.) We willingly offend Him greatly by doing things we know are wrong, like lie, steal, lust, idolize, slander, and more; we know that God hates what we do and that, because of that, we are worthy and deserving of His eternal punishment in Hell under His Righteous Wrath. And there will be a day when God will judge the world in righteousness, with anger and fury, and no one will be able to escape.
But,
The Good News (the Gospel):
God the Father sent God the Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life we could not live, fulfilling God's righteous requirements of His Law. He also died on a cross, taking upon Himself the full anger and wrath of God, providing atonement for sinners and God-haters who would believe on Him. Christ was buried, for He indeed died. However, 3 days later, He rose from the dead. And whoever understands this, repents from their God-hating, rebellious, sinful ways, and places all their trust on Christ and His work alone, will not suffer God's Eternal Wrath, but will be saved and be in the Lord's beautiful presence forever.
