In Fall 2010, Canita was the winner of BMI Atlanta “Building the beat II” competition. Canita has extraordinary ability as an artist and musician and has performed with numerous artists: Chalmers “Spanky” Alford, a guitarist for Raphael Saadiq and D’Angelo; Hip-hop artist BoneCrusher with Vainglorious Entertainment (bassist); The Sheagle, and all-female country/rock band (keyboardist); Gospel artist Porsha Ray (Keyboardist); Paradigm, an all-female band (bassist); Remedy, an R&B band (bassist, keyboardist/singer); and Sean Simmonds, Gospel artist with Alliant/Xist Records (keyboardist).
Because of her incomparable aptitude to produce music she has arranged compositions for various artist: Remedy, and R&B band (Remedy Live, 2005); Sean Simmonds, Gospel artist (True Story, 2006); Hip-hop artist Bone Crusher (Free, 2007); King David, Gospel Hip-Hop artist (EP Album 2008); Marc Lacy, spoken word artist (Rtiqlation, 2002). She also co-owns 318 Music Productions in Huntsville, AL.
