She gave up everything for him and he saw nothing but what *he* wanted, what appealed to his 'baser instincts' upon which he played while he spoke loudly of the bible. The bible only serves him when it agrees with what he wants at the time. It was at his hands that she perished! She asked nothing but to love and be loved; yet that too was to be denied her. Few would ever know what truly happened that brought about the termination of this poor soul. Sadly, she loved not wisely but too well. All she really wanted was some happiness and beauty in what remained of her life and she tried so hard to please yet failed each time. There are those who will not be pleased no matter what is given. Always, they will seek to draw out more and more of that which is freely given until the spirit of the giver is diminished. The story of a fool and a woman who had been a fool for him is a sad one but true.
