Michael B. Gomez (Born October 2, 1985), better known as his stage name MG, is an American rapper/writer/singer. He was born in Manhattan and raised in the South Bronx. His mother is of Puerto Rican descent and was also a singer. His father was of Cuban descent and passed away from alcohol abuse, which later played a major part in MG choosing to pursue music. At the age of 8, with his older sister and single mother, they experienced the unstable lifestyle of being in and out of different shelters. He would use the time traveling in between shelters to express his feelings of the situation, which would later manifest itself into a music career. Starting as an outlet to escape from the harsh realities of poverty it later became a love and passion for words and writing music.
In 2003, after spending years secretly perfecting his craft, MG was approached by a close friend to write a song for a well known Bronx rapper. The song was an instant hit, fueling his need to further his career. He spent the next few years writing for various artists and picking up modeling gigs to help fund his music endeavors, but always felt the want to step out into the lime light and do what his heart knew he was born to do “perform.” He is currently working on his debut mix tape entitled, “ME NOW” including the smash hits, “Bad” and “Be Alone.” His smooth witty lyrics comprised with his ability to do more than carry a tune vocally makes him a sure shot as the next NY artist to fly.
