Born 1960 Wellington, New Zealand. My father was a music teacher and pianist his entire working life. I began piano lessons at an early age, and over the years tried my hand at several instruments including violin, guitar, and bass. Today I mainly play Bass.
I love playing jazz more than anything. Some of my favorite artists are (in no particular order) John McLaughlin, Stanley Clark, Victor Wooton, Chich Corea, Al DiMeola, John Scofield, Pat Methany, Marcus Miller, Miles Davis, George Duke, Santana, Oscar Peterson, Jeff Berlin, Larry Carlton, Steve Gadd, Billy Cobham, Jaco Pastorius, Barry Miles, oh ... and the list could go on literally forever. Nice to have so many favourites :-)
