For Alabama’s rising star Jermaine Cobbs, getting to sample Hotel California written by The Eagles, is like a dream come true. The song “By His Stripes” will be featured on Jermaine’s debut album, Based On A True Story. “The fact that I grew up listening to this incredible song says a lot about its appeal and ability to transcend from one generation to the next,” Jermaine says as his eyes dance with excitement. “I admire and respect artists that are willing to take chances and try anything.”
Jermaine describes his own music as fun and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. “Spiritual music is about life stories. Some of those stories can be meaningful and still be fun. I never write a song that I can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. My music will always reflect who I am.”
When asked about his first experience in an Atlanta studio, Jermaine responded, “My producer was amazed at how well I did in the studio. We laid our first song in thirty minutes. He said I was a natural, unlike anything he had experienced before!
Jermaine’s voice is hypnotic, soothing and mesmerizing all at the same time.
