Born in St. Louis, Missouri on the 9th of July 1981, Moore-El brings to the music seen 15 plus years of musical experience. First encouraged by his uncle Azar Spann, an educator/musician, he chose the saxophone to pursue his musical career. He began playing in the sixth grade under the leadership of Trumpeter Paul Overby @ Pruitt Military Academy Middle School. Moore-El stated that "one of my uncles always wanted to play the saxophone but never did so he purchased me one of my own in the 6th grade." During this same year he was made famous amongst his peers; on the 1st of May 1993, this young man was left for dead, and due to him playing the saxophone his respiratory system was prepared to sustain many stab wounds to the chest cavity. Praise Allah!!! Rather than abandoning the music he loved he simply applied his energy, spirit, and fierce rage to the music labeled jazz, creating a tone that is one of a kind or should i say truly unique. His mother and father, played the hugest part in his success as an artist by giving him inspiration and plenty of support regardless of the cards dealt to him.
