Songwriter and Singer
It was evident that I had some talent in music at an early age. By the time I was five years old, I could play chords and rhythms on a guitar. In fifth grade, my parents enrolled me in band class where I learned to play saxophone. I was in the band from that point and throughout high school. When I was about twelve, my
parents bought a piano, and it quickly became my number one instrument.
During my last two years of high school, I became greatly involved with church. We had a series of church revivals during that time, and the Lord placed it in my heart then that I wanted to minister in music. Also, during that time, my father told me I
should write songs, and that is when my songwriting began.
After high school, I went to Morehead State University. From 1984 to 1988, I studied music and I excelled in music theory and did well in music reading, music composition and piano. Due to circumstances, I did not finish college though I had a 3.87 GPA.
The time period since college has been one of struggle. While the desire is still in my heart to minister and serve the church in music, the cares of life and making ends meet has been winning the battle for my attention. But now I am renewing my commitment and reconfirming God's call on my life to minister and serve in music.I look forward to serving you.
