Less than two years ago, Radikal Hughes was just your typical 22 year old inspiring local talent from Grand Rapids, MI. With a world of talent and big dreams, Radikal Hughes was inspired and fueled by the artists he grew up listening to which included Brian McKnight, Jagged Edge, Usher, Mase, Eminem and LL Cool J. Now with the release of his nationwide single “Ego” and his debut album releasing very soon after; Radikal Hughes is the new urban inspiration, ready to take his rightful place. “Ego is a single that anyone and everyone can relate to” ,Hughes says, explaining his new smash hit single. “I feel it’s a single especially for the fans, It’s not for the critics, the haters, or people that get music just to fit in. Instead, it’s a heartfelt song for everybody who has ever had their back against the wall, faced intense trials, yet counted on God for their confidence and their deliverance. It’s an anthem/theme song for my life which is relevant everyday, if I feel doubt or intimidation trying to contain me, I blare Ego.” “Ego” is the debut single from Radikal Hughes, since the time of release, his single has debuted on radio stations in over 20 countries, along with radio stations all over the nation. However, his biggest fan base pull has been performing at college campus’ nationwide, continual spins on internet radio, & social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. “I’ve always imagined I could be what I wanted to be, I prayed, worked hard, and hoped that I could do it”, says Hughes; now 24 years old. “What’s funny is, I never dreamed how fast all this would take off, I’m just thankful to God and grateful for all the success I’ve had so far. It truly is amazing what happens when a person surrenders their life/destiny to God. God opens all the doors for that person that He ordained before the ages.” “I want to show the world that I’m not just a another musician, I love people & most of all I love God” “I am an all-around entertainer”, says Hughes. “I love acting, modeling, entrepreneurship, and being an everyday comedian. I want to show the world I can do it all, and be the example for the up and coming generation along with all independent artists.” Radikal Hughes is also involved in charity work. He has been an incredible supporter of the Bridge of Hope founded by Pastor Rod Parsley, which is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in humanitarian efforts such as liberating slaves in Sudan and for providing inner city children with mentorship, food, water, along with disaster relief. Radikal Hughes will even donate a percentage of every ticket sold, when he embarks on the “Free 2 Fly Tour” launching in 32 cities, in early Summer of 2011. “I’d rather be known as the first Radikal Hughes”, Hughes says. “The Lil Wayne’s, The Kanye West’s, The Neyo’s those type of artist aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. They’re still going to be doing what they do best five to ten years from now, but I feel very strongly that Radikal Hughes can be just as equally impact full, if not more so at making trendsetting Top 40 inspirational music that people from all backgrounds can relate to. Our daily focus is keeping everything we do “Transparent” and “Relatable”. While striving to be the best that I can be, along with being the best at what I do.” Much like the greatest artists, Radikal’s music has an eternal sound that raptures the soul of listeners and fans of all demographics. “As a songwriter as well as an emcee, I think it’s important to cast my words wide”, says Hughes. “In other words, I am not trying to contain myself or my music in some little box marked urban. I have traveled the world, and I desire to spread that message in all of my material. Forget about urban, pop, R&B, or whatever, Radikal Hughes will be loved worldwide and be remembered for making that creative timeless heartfelt music!” Moving beyond the competition by striving to stay true to God and himself, Radikal Hughes
