BORN: Dead Incredible’s music is a product of his cultured, yet troubled life, in the city of Las Vegas. Born to immigrant parents father from Egypt, and mother from Cuba Dead began his music endeavors early, playing piano and singing in both English and Arabic at the age of 3.
HIP HOP: Dead’s love for Hip-Hop came about in the late 80’s and by the early 90’s, he was performing in front of hundreds at underground Hip Hop festivals in and around Las Vegas. He adopted the Emcee name of Overdose, which was a direct reference to the environment of drugs and alcohol that seemed to engulf everything in his life. It was music that kept him strong throughout his battle with addictive behavior, and helped him to survive 6 overdoses. The name had now become a reality. REBORN: Born in the year of the Dragon, he was finally awakened by what he describes as “unbelievable”. After so much turmoil in his life, he focused on the one constant, which was his passion for music. “I just think it is incredible that I have not died. I have awakened a sleeping dragon in my music”, he said. Overdose then changed his Emcee name to Dead Incredible. ORIGINAL SOUND: His sound is truly like no other, coming from his heavy exposure to Salsa Queen Celia Cruz, the Reggae sounds of Bob Marley, the poetic & unpredictable sounds of The Doors, the rhythmic soul sounds of 60’s Motown, & of course Hip Hop. To categorize his style is not accurate, but true Hip Hop, Underground, and Acid Rap are all good attempts.
