Lolo Pittz, aka Dominoes, was raised in Louisville, KY and has spent time in the Bronx, NY and Puerto Rico. His travels have influenced the artists music and songwriting, giving it a unique Hip-Hop, Reggaeton hybrid sound. Exposure to island society and a lifetime of cultural experiences have enabled Dominoes to develop a double-consciousness of the world around him that readily distinguishes his style from other artists within the city. With a wide range of musical influences from Tego Calderon and Mavado to Nas and Bob Marley; this aspiring artist embodies the three musical traditions that originally birthed the cultural phenomenon of Hip-Hop back in the 1970s. Dominoes attributes his earliest memories of enjoying music to his grandmother, who would often blast her Salsa and Plena 45s from the basement of their home. The artist’s mother saw this prodigal passion within her son and enrolled the toddler into the Kindermusic program led by Sandy Moran. While these courses laid the foundation for his artistic development, Dominoes’ musical nurturing would dramatically change as he moved in with his aunt and uncle. It was here that the artist was introduced to Hip-Hop, and his fourteen-year-old cousin that was more than willing to show him the trade. It wasn’t long before the artist started writing his own raps, drawing from his cousin’s teachings and the style of the region. He chose the moniker Dominoes to represent his African and Latino heritage and a symbol of himself as an integral part of the game. Dominoes is currently working on a solo LP set for release in early 2010.
