Funk Embassy is a young Montreal-based group that has been around since October 2009, created from an impulse of MC TiTi, a composer who has actively worked in the French rap milieu (Lyon region) during the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Rooted in an eclectic mix of musical inspirations, the members of the Funk Embassy project have embraced the mission of contributing, however modestly, to the wonderful dynamics of the Montreal Soul/Funk/Rap scene, all the while building strong artistic bonds between the hip-hop world and a variety of musical genres and influences (jazz, soul, classical, rock…).
Through groove, mellifluous voices, international collaborations (France, Canada, U.S.A. for the time being), and Web 2.0, Funk Embassy is tirelessly and uncompromisingly working at bringing you the best funk sound around.
Their repertoire is steadily growing and will be presented to you in the very near future via the release of a video clip and a 6-title EP.
MC Titi and the Funk Embassy are currently laying the groundwork for their second EP, to be released in 2013, and are looking for new talented and open-minded artists (rap, song) who are dedicated to their artistic approach while keeping as far away as possible from the superficial bling-bling that unfortunately replaces talent all too often nowadays ;-)
