Okay so I couldnt get Uncle Chief himself to sitdown and establish the history of Thee Leaf so here's my version of how it came to be....
On or around July 12-17, 2010, there was a gathering of people. People who were normal. Common civilians. Yet people who wanted pull, power, fame and had the drive to go get it. A hot summer afternoon, roomates Larry "Linuxland" Smith (also known as The King of Green in the music production field) and Bruce "Iron Ghost" Williams sat in there Lanham home frustrated from the lack of sincerity and loyalty of local DMV artist, they began planing changes in there team production. Green who was head of development due to the vast amount of music he had produced, had given up completely on music creation leaving Ghost head of production. He didnt mind at all. He had already had over 60-70 beats and concepts on deck! They then began trying different approaches on music marketing and distribution. As well as expansion on the eastern and southern states. They had the grand concept, but no means of actually putting it in motion. Enter Larry "Magicarpetmane" Spencer and Thomas "Uncle Chief" Hill the 3rd. To of Green's lifelong friends. Chief (professional Caddilac lover)who studied sociology in college, had an idea to put Ghost on blast even more and a solution to help Green out his depression state. While Chief devised a plan of attack, Spencer(professional angry person) being a major music fan himself decided to be head lyricist for the Green and Ghost production squad. Cool. After presenting the idea of travel and expansion, Chief implemented the idea of live instruments and studio services. Thing were lookin good. We had our idea in motion now. We were assembled and just needed a name. Green Ghost had to go. (smoke break).........I got it!!! Music inspired by Green? Hell no! Too hott. Green Music? Nope. We dont just make smokers music. AHHAA What inspired all those famous musicians? Gave'em the ability to think oustside the box and be abstract. Honestly, drugs and other sorts of narcotics but we were'rt on all that. Enter "Music Inspired by The Leaf!" Things were starting off fantastic! With Ghost on the track, Larry upfront, Chief on travel and distribution and Green considering leaving his hacker lifestyle alone to pursue music again, the boys were on a roll! BUT like real people in real life they faced reality. No one had a job with bills out the a**. We had one car and barely any gas. They lived there and we lived there on the verge of eviction. We caught big heat off the use of "The Leaf" from fans of the popular Naruto anime series. Hence the change to "Thee" from "The" We weren't copying and were fans as well. All we had was 3067 beats and time. Tough but things have changed and still are changing for our Leaf Team. Although they lost Iron Ghost due to relocation, they stand strong with Ghost still a valid member working on his debut album "Thee Asylum" (2011) and the slow comeback of King Green ("Turquoise Smoke" due Jan 2011) engaged and now living with his music mentor Michael Ferrell, Uncle Chief learning more on his craft and learning to play instruments himself, and Larry sharpening his lyrical skills and discovering new types of music and speech. ALL working jobs now. They also have branched off acquiring up and coming rap artist Kairon "Sixxcess" Trowell for his street team expertise and collaborating with the hott "No Sleep Gang". Yes things seem to be coming to shine for our Leaf boys. Only time and devotion will tell where there music takes them. Will people like there music? Will they conquer or just fit in? Music is like food and we Music Inspired by Thee Leaf are like chef's who pride ourselves on "cooking up" exactly what you like/love and want. Yet surprise you and introduce you to things you have never seen or heard while taking you back to the best feelings of your life with our music. When making music, we ask "How can Thee Leaf inspire you?"
