I've been playing guitar since I was 9. I was performing in church after taking lessons from the sisters soon after. I didn't start learning rock and roll until I was 13. I took lessons from Ken Meyle (fantastic player). I learned quickly and was in my first band by the time I was a freshman. After high school I started looking for a bar band to join. I started playing in Dangerous Rhythm in 1989 with local well known singer/songwriter Dennis Holmes and current Road Dogs lead guitarist Rick Toy. When Dangerous Rhythm broke up in 1994 I took a break from music and concentrated on home. I was married to Debbie Hunneyman in 93 and we bought a new house. I became a Systems Admin for QVC and along with my family, computers became my focus for a long time. We adopted our son David in 2002 and family life took over for the next 5 years. Good times. 2 things got me back into music. The first was hearing my cousin Drew O'Doherty's first album "Starts". The songs were amazing stories. Beautifully written and played. It remains one of my favorite "desert island" albums to this day. This inspired me to try and write my own songs instead of just being a guitarist for hire. The second was jamming with some friends at work. We had great chemistry and similar goals. They were my rock and roll outlet. While it's difficult for me to play out solo I do hope to start playing some local bars in the near future.
