Originally from Anderson, South Carolina; Eric Selman is an upcoming singer, songwriter, and guitarist in his self-named band. Born in 1987, the now twenty-three year old has not only a near-death life but a story of survival. Eric grew up in the tight community of Anderson where as a child he quickly made a name for himself. He became a stand out athlete playing football , baseball and wrestling. At a early age, everyone noticed his love for music and his ability to be a singer. His mother, Pam Selman, set up a audition with the GAMAC boys choir, which his older brother, Adam, was already a part of. Eric started to travel with the boys choir at age seven. As a child, Eric remembers watching his blind uncle, Donny Kelly, play the guitar and eventually passed down the love of the acoustic guitar to Eric around the age of eight. Donny has become the greatest influence in life and music according to Eric. Three years after graduating in 2005, Eric made the decision to join the army as a sniper in the infantry. He deployed to Afghanistan on July 6, 2008, to one of the worst war zones in modern day. He lost many of his fellow soldiers and friends, including his own team . On November, Eric took part in a shoot-out in which one man was already gunned-down and Eric would get shot in the head. He would later be medivaced out of the Afghanistan to Landstuhl, Germany where he had a life-saving operation and also began the long road to recovery. Music is know his passion.
