Ludacris, Greg Street, Teddy Riley and other established Atlanta producers have discovered something the rest of the music industry will soon find out: that Cap1 is an underground hip hop phenomena. After making his way back into the industry co-writing for Yung Berg's hit single, "Sexy Can I" Cap1 is set to reemerge as a boss in this hip hop game. Growing up in the grass roots of the south side of chicago, it wasn't hard for a young Cap1's curiosity to lean towards music. With a musician as a father and consistently being in the atmosphere of artistry, Cap1's fascination heightened and he became infatuated with the craft. Smitten by the mass appeal of old school rap legends such as Run-DMC and Slick Rick, he decided to try his hand at rapping. Free-styling came natural and those around took notice. This uncommon ability to flow paid off resulting in history being made: Cap1 became the first rapper signed to Motown Records. His lyricism became infectious and sparked the attention of one of the hottest hiphop magazines to date, The Source. This was a huge opportunity that was quickly obliged by the rookie to the rap game. The exposure of such a respected magazine would give him the credibility needed to enhance his notoriety. Soon after he opened his doors fo them to document his rise to fame and the realease of his debut album, Through the Eyes Of a Don.
