In the late 70's I found myself living and working in the small town of Pincher Creek, Alberta. It was there I decided to do something I had always wanted to, …learn to play the guitar. I took an old Harmony guitar of my brother’s from a closet at my mom’s and learned covers of songs by John Prine, Valdy, Harry Chapin, Jimmy Buffett, Pure Prairie League, Loggins & Messina, Bob Seger etc.
I played at guitar parties with friends and family and around the campfire throughout the eighties. It wasn’t until he moved to Vancouver Island in 1992 that he started to perform at public venues. In 1994 I answered an ad posted in a local Nanaimo music store by a fella name of Keith Roger and we started performing in pubs up and down Vancouver Island under the moniker of ‘Bri n’ Keith’. When Keith left for Brandon ‘Almost Live’ a duo with Ron Keck was playing the pubs as well as ‘The Workin’ Stiffs’ band that had a number of incarnations and that could probably be put back together if need be.
In 1998 I attended a newly formed ‘first Thursday of the month’ event called ‘The Nanaimo Songwriters Circle’. It was at that first gathering I found my real musical love, the sharing of original songs and the songwriters themselves.
In 2004 I released an album of original songs entitled “One In A Million” recorded and produced with Jerry Paquette at Raincoast Studio in Nanaimo. In 2010 the album "Back to the muse" with producer extraordinaire Andrew Oye. I'm still writing & performing.
