Doug Pace is currently the Worship Leader/Minister of Music at Living Witness Ministries in Flint Michigan. Doug has been leading people there into God's presence for over seven years. Back in November of 2001 Doug's pastor at that time decided he was going to resign as Senior Pastor of the church which left Doug wondering what would happen to his ministry that he felt the Lord had called him to. Well after failed attempts to sell the facility and the church grounds the pastor had phoned an old friend who had a son just getting his own church started but did not have a building. Well that man is Pastor Don Kelley and the rest is history. Pastor Don took over the building under the name Living Witness Ministries and has been there ever since. Doug and his wife Sarah wanting direction from the Lord and wondering if their ministries were over attended the first service held at Living Witness. After all that place had been home to them for a number of years and they were married there. The new pastor (Don Kelley) greeted them after the service and asked them what they did at the church. Doug replied, "my wife taught Sunday School and I led worship services. Pastor Don replied back, "Well I don't want to do everything!" This he said because he was senior pastor, worship leader and much more, coupled with the fact that it was a growing and new church. So after the Pastors got to know Doug and his wife and see their faithfulness the door to leading worship, singing and praising the Lord and drawing others into God's presence returned. The door was opened for Doug and slammed shut in the devil's face.

Redemption Draws Nigh

Most recently I felt the Lord was inspiring me to write about some of the things that we see going on today. The loss of jobs, poverty, and plagues to name a few. The lyrics to the song were completed even before the breaking out of the swine flu. Also the point of the song wasn't to focus on all the negatives that surround us but however to look to God and His promise of completing our redemption. Not to be funny but at first I thought the song was going to sound country because of the verses, but once you reach the pre-chorus and chorus you realize that the song not only lets the sinner know they have a decision to make but edifies the believer by reminding them that these things all around us that are happening are a clear sign that the end of this dispensation is near. You say, "well I don't remember God saying anything about guns in schools and job losses." No but these things are still things the enemy will use as "cares of this world" to distract you from thinking about Jesus and His soon return to get His bride. Recently Living Witness Ministries in Flint, Michigan went through it's tenth anniversary celebration and our very own Rev. Richard Beasley of LWM International came back to preach a night during the celebration. I was sitting up toward the front when he was opening and he started to talk about all the things going on in the world and how easily people even believers can get distracted. Well when he metioned lift up your heads for your redemption draws nigh I started to laugh aloud, not being disrespectful but it just confirmed what the Lord was ministering to and through me in this song so my joy was increased and well let's just say I'm not a quiet person. In conclusion I would just like to add that maybe we all should not go quietly allowing ourselves to be enveloped by the darkness of things happening around us to discourage and distract. But let us lift up a joyful noise unto the Lord of hosts, in praise and adoration piercing the darkness and proclaim HIS everlasting light giving Him thanks always for the promises of the past, present, and the ones we have not even experienced yet in the near future for remember: 1Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Thanks brother!
