Whats Good, This business sucks! All I see is rappers wasting time "rapping" on a bunch of free wack beats Making a million excuses on why they don't have money for beats I hope your not sitting around thinking your going to get a record deal because your not This is not a rant, this is a public service announcement to all lazy and ego driven rappers Stop rapping on free beats Stop thinking your too good to buy beats (NOTHING IS FREE) Stop uploading to dat piff Stop freestyling with broke ass rappers Stop thinking you know everything about this business Stop being cheap (SCARED MONEY WILL NEVER MAKE ANY MONEY) Start rapping on beats you paid for Start selling your music by submitting to iTunes, Amazon, Real Rhapsody, Napster, etc. Start budgeting your money for important shit (NOT JORDANS, WEED AND HOES) Start listening and learning to people who are grinding in this business Start learning to invest in your future Start treating this as a business and not a attention seeking hobby If you DON'T listen to this, YOU will never be successful in this music business If 400 of my banging beats for $37 don't impress you RETIRE NOW. I dare you to try it. If the beat vault doesn't impress you, what’s $37? At least you’re investing in your future. The Forth and Fifth key to success (network and promote)

If ur a singer songwriter producer etc. it's very important that u network working with artist who share the same genre as you is a great way for you to do what i call the 3 E's. Expand, Express and Explode I personally find a lot of my inspiration while expanding. working with mature artist that i can look up to and learn from is a lifetime experience (IF) your humble enough to look at it that way) i think especially if your a new artist you really need to work with someone who isn't afraid to keep it 100 with you and has more experience to share/advice to give. Whenever your working with another artist have an open mind coming up with concepts for your material etc. an interaction of ideas and life experiences help result in a great project. Be real about what your expressing it's very important that your audience can relate to you as i said before and had to learn myself. Don't be fake! giving people what you think they wanna hear or is going to accept, honestly as an artist is the worst mistake u can make. "The real can always see through the fake" no matter what never hesitate to be yourself. With all honesty my favorite process in creating a song is hearing it when it's done love it for yourself and Promote! Promote! Promote! like crazy! join social networks such as twitter Facebook studiolinked reverbnation myspace etc. building your fan base is top key to being successful you may start off with10 fans (if your fortunate) but those 10 fans can/will also serve as a very important role by helping you promote "word of mouth" Make sure tho that you as well as your collaborator is on the same page as far as promoting not everyone do this but i like to find out how there gonna promote the track vs.myself. i think it can really double your chances of being heard and building your fanbase when u do this. he or she may have hook-ups that maybe you don't or vise versa, 2 is always better than one. much love and best wishes ya girl inspired Follow me on Twitter & FB @darealinspired and pls feel free to leave your links...We in $grind mode$ :)
The third key to success (investing n your career)

Authors note: as a serious artist this should be your main priority you should have a reasonable budget for production, graphics, equipment, promotions etc. because it's first impulse to judge a book by it's cover (so to speak) it's very important that you attract your audience and that they know you take your music seriously i believe in loyal fans and if they gonna invest there time and hard earned money in you you need to first invest in yourself. i've heard of artists making at least $12,000 a year just with album sales alone so tell me it ain't worth it,"you gotta spend money to make money" The better your demo is quality wise the more recognition you'll get So some say that the quality of your music and demo packaging don't matter to record labels "but please don't believe that" that also goes for the radio stations your info. in black marker and faded picture isn't gonna get you heard before a well put together demo. invest a little bit of money and hire a professional if you choose to do it yourself at least make it look presentable. believe me however i know that everybody don't have $500 for production alone but it is very important that your producer whatever the charge make studio quality beats and the vocals are recorded with a professional sound if your just starting out with a tight budget i would advise you to at least get good recording software if your performing your own songs, or shop around for producers/ artists that are willing to work around your budget but remember just because your budget may be small that don't mean you have to think small A common mistake artist do is overnight thinking a lot of artist out there think that they can make a hott mixtape and just get it to a A&R and that's gonna get them signed but "that's not gonna get you anywhere" but thrown in the trash. i'm just keeping it real! We can't do it all every artist don't have the gift to do there own production, graphics, promo whatever. you work, you have a budget, hire someone your "never" gonna make it without a budget If you truly believe in yourself and what your trying to pursue why not "put yo money where yo mouth is" (I challenge you) to invest n your passion Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about- mic j write
The second key to success ( fearless by inspiration )
Jul 11, 2010

authors note: I personally feel that this is one of the most important keys inspiration is a must to creating good music. weather it's from life in which you live or life that lives within someone. i've been inspired by everyone from poets to producers to low life's. i've learned that you have to be willing to accept and welcome tough situations whatever situation your going through believe that someone else is going through it to, knowing that i'm not writing for just myself but others is what help keep me inspired "real music comes from real situations" your fans has to be able to relate to you and not being afraid to share your darkest moments makes u fearless. now real quick i have to touch on being fearless because i must admit that it is something that i've struggled with fear of being judged in a negative way, fear of losing love and failure. just recently though i had to take a step back and realize just how much my fear of (being judged in a negative way) was holding me back as an artist i wouldn't be totally honest if i didn't say that i thought about giving up on my dream but i had to be reminded to these words "never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about"-mic j. write now this advice was also given to me by musician Krane Isbald "Not a lot of people have the potential to succeed at being unique, and a lot of unique styles are not worth success. The key to STARTING a successful career is listening to criticism and seeing what aspects of your music people want to hear more of. once you get a feel of what generally get's a good reaction, you can most likely take it from there in your own creative way. If you want to be successful as a songwriter, you HAVE TO listen to what people say, and take it constructively. if you completely ignore people, your music may only sound good to you, and while you're enjoying what you do, no one will be willing to pay to hear it. Also, i realize that there are a lot of idiots out there who will insult anything outside of their genre. These are the people you may ignore. To sum it all up, be yourself in your music, but don't push to be different. listen to what the majority of people want, and take that on in your own unique way". And just think someone had the nerve to ask me why i call myself "inspired" lol. it wouldn't be right if i didn't take the time to think some of my main inspirations Blitz, mic j. write (who is making serious moves LITERALLY) Skrazey who have a membership deal going on @ http://www.skrazeybeatz.com only for *REAl* artist (he made that very clear). and i can't forget about TheOne who is actually the reason i even wrote this blog it's always good to know that your work isn't falling on deaf ears thankyou for the support. i'm inspired by everyone but i just had to shoutout my main ppl In conclusion - "The music business is NOT an easy road to drive on but if you have drive, confidence and your FEARLESS you will make it- Skrazey blog written by "inspired"
