“J-5”, 20 years old, was born Johnathan A Davenport raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He got his name “J-5” as a childhood name as he was always different. J-5 came from a single parent household, and when things got hard the only way he knew how to cope with the situation was to turn to music. Realizing his passion for music at 11, he became influenced by rap artist Nas. He began writing lyrics using rapping as a hobby. He performed in talent shows through out middle school. While in high school he joined a local rap group with four of his best friends called Y.G.F. After various shows and time passing. The group parted ways. While attending college, he kept writing lyrics. Sooner to reunite with one of the members of Y.G.F. Yakki(Yakki Davis). They formed the group H.C.K(HELLA COPPA KIDZ). With their unique versatility that ranges from Hip Hop to Pop and strangely Rock & Roll. . They say and I quote ‘‘We are trying to cover all genres of music working on Pop and Rock & Roll music’’. With youth on their side, H.C.K is definitely in a position to make an impact in the music scene. After performing at various clubs, H.C.K is becoming very popular in the underground music scene as entertainers. With their songwriting ability. Their single “Kick Ball” has been blazing the underground circuit. Their ability to captivate the audience is undeniable. They will definitely leave you requesting to hear more of what they have to say. Even though compared by many with the likes of other ‘‘swagg’’ rappers out of Atlanta , H.C.K is in a lane of their own because of there creativity and versatility as songwriters, and entertainers. Its just a god given talent. Ask H.C.K and they will tell you, “Our sound is different and unique and honestly nobody’s doing music like us. We make good music period. H.C.K vision is to be a “made men” in the industry. Their not looking for the easy way in. There in this full time and is ready to pay dues.
