J Petty, an Atlanta, GA native, is redefining the genre of R&B music by staying true to the old school vocals and style that once guided R&B to the forefront of popular music. The music world will be turned upside down by J Petty ability to display his passion for his craft/talent. J Petty received his start as a producer with a distinct and creative sound. Although he was comfortable using his skills in the background, he was encouraged by peers to step into the limelight and share his talent with the world. As a result of past relationships, the future album “X-POSED” is literally a caption of J Petty soul on a musical canvas.
“The most fulfilling way to express myself is through my singing”, says J Petty. He found his love for music at the tender age of 5 while singing in church. After building his confidence and receiving encouragement from his mother and church family, he showcased his voice in different venues such as talent shows and night clubs. His unique style has afforded him the opportunity to perform in multiple venues throughout the years. J Petty has also worked with musical greats such as Eric Benet and Keith Sweat. He performed alongside Eric Benet at a live performance and sang background vocals on Keith Sweat’s 2000 album “Didn’t See Me Coming”. Like many in the Entertainment Industry, J Petty did not gain success on the first try. He has experienced many industry related “flops”, but his no quit attitude carried him through it all. Today, J Petty can boldly proclaim that he is doing what he was born to do as an R & B artist. His music is filled with creative lyrics and melodies that are displayed with an unadulterated expression. There is no doubt the originality of this grown and sexy superstar will bring a new edge to R&B music.
