The PHormula is one of the hottest up and coming Hip Hop groups in the nation. The PHormula makes jaw-dropping music that grabs you by the short n’ curlies with their enthralling lyrics and phenomenal beats. The PHormula creates a sound that is catchy, but not commercial and conscious, but not comatosing. They describe their style as being a foreign yet familiar style that goes from the roots to the leaves of the tree of Hip Hop.
The PHormula is three emcees AlPHamatic, Examine and PHilosophy combined with DJ PHonics, The Sound Scientist. The PHormula is definitely at their best live, with their captivating stage presence, hard hitting beats, and infectious energy-they can move any crowd. Their music is about the PHundamentals (that’s “funding-mentals”) of Hip Hop. That is rhyme, and most importantly, reason. With this philosophy the PHormula is rapidly building a wide fan base and connecting with many other artists in the Northwest.
The PHormula has been doing shows in the Eugene/Portland, Oregon area for the past 4 years performing at every major venue in the area. They have opened for countless artists including KRS-1, Capadonna of Wu-Tang, Saul Williams, The Pharcyde, People Under the Stairs, The Game and many others.
