One More Thing Kids...
Jan 26, 2007
DON'T DO DRUGS! Waaaaaay back in 2005 when I was creating 1.06 and people caught the demo in summer (05). People always asked me how I come up with this stuff. I'd just say I had a somewhat vivid imagination. Thats a half truth. I do have a vivid imagination. But during the entire writing of 1.06 I was fried. There I said it again. See... word of mouth spread on my secret. (Which honestly is really no secret. A lot of artists tend to be high when they create songs) And its not as if I write anything special or out of the ordinary. I just get in the mood. HOWEVER... Word came back to me FROM the parents of two unrelated families that their kids have picked up the habit of smoking weed for the purposes of artistry. They were very irate. Not particularly at me... but they vented their anger at the situation on me. And I will direct those parents to this Blog post the moment I finish. The following is my official statement to the parents or any parent or EVEN the kids themselves: I stand before you not as the entity known as StreeT PropheT but as the individual known to the Government as CjZ. It is very important that you learn to separate and understand the difference between the two. The difference between the man and the artist are slight but you must comprehend them before you take my/Prophet's words as law. In no way have I nor will I ever endorse the use of drugs for any reason. My lyrics with drug content in them are not encouraging people to use drugs but merely putting drugs .. well .. certain drugs in a different light so casual or even responsible hardcore users do not feel like outcasts because they choose to partake in them. To back up that point I will quote certain lines from my songs for you. Chi Chi grab that Yayo and get it out of my house/ I ain't snortin lines like Clifford Krauss// When you fuckin with the Prophet it ain't nothin but love/ One more thing kids .. don't do drugs// Your life is down the tubes and all your veins are narrowin/ Shoulda thought twice before you started fuckin with Heroin// Can you see my point now? To the parents of the two kids (Ages 16 and 17) I cannot blame you for wanting to protect your kids from the dangers of drug use. However directing your anger at me is ill advised. If your kids hold me (Someone who continues to strongly enforce the fact that I am not a role model) in such high regard over the principles you as the parent taught them, I cannot be held accountable for their actions. In addition their rebellious nature can only be chalked up to your shortcomings as a parent. Hence I will not apologize or tell these kids to stop doing what they are doing. That is your job as a parent. I will offer (in somber tone) a concern that you instill the dangers of drug use into your children. They are getting older and you may just have to let the bricks fall on their heads. In response to the rude and crude allegations that my parents are "soul-less" and "un-nurturing people" ... (Here's where CjZ steps aside) You can simply kiss my ass with your tongue out. My father ain't in the picture and you would know that if you took time to listen to any of my songs. You would know that he was and probably still is a heavy drug user. You know Cocaine, Heroin, acid and probably some Meth. Say what you want about my drug use but do not imply my mother is to blame as if I'm some plague to society. Clearly you are not proud of your kids and my mom is proud of me. I made money off my shit. What did your kids do? Get high and come up with nothing! Didn't make no money. They need to re-evaluate! And so do you. Good Day! End communication.
The Making Of Unprophetional 2
Jan 19, 2007
In like 2004 I put out Unprophetional for like 5 minutes and then dubbed two copies of that shit. Why only two? Cuz it was horrid. I managed to have 2 catch smash ghetto tunes on there though that managed to catch on. One way more than the other. To pay homage to the two songs, I brought them over albeit remixed on 1.06. (F.U I'm not Sorry and So Sick Of This) We all know how 1.06 turned out. So now we shift to the next album and where I'll go from there. I wish I could get some photos of my so called Studio. I'm really roughing it here. Real Hustle and Flow style. Got the Nice Mic, taped to the stand with pantyhose working the spit guard for the mic. Say what cha want, I make something from nothing. 1.06 focused more on the mindstate following a break-up. U:2 focuses more on the aftermath of a break-up providing the man bounces back hard and now that "cheatin skeetin thang" is a thing of the past. Instead of focusing so much on women or a woman... the view has shifted to the world itself so there is a more socially conscious feel. Not quite as smart as Nas or Mos Def but nowhere near as dumb as say.. 50 cent. Mediocrity isn't bad when the majority of people are average at best. So they feel you no matter what. Thats who I talk to. The people who live and breathe and law abide and are pissed that they are outcasts cuz they went out and got an education, got a job, valued knowledge over sellin crack. That sort of thing. You can only watch rich trust fund kids sell crack to impress 50 cent for so long before you just start beating the shit out of them when you see them. This is the suburbs. Get a job! Nuff Said. S.P
