TENMAN was raised in NAPTOWN - indianapolis, Ind- and has played different instruments since the age of seven. He was inspired further when he use to sneak and listen to a local band called MANCHILD - which consisted of guys like chucky bush and Kenny babyface Edmonds- right outside their basement window. After forming several bands through highschool and being crownd as the best drummer at Broad Ripple H.S . His family moved to Jacksonville, Florida where his drumming abilities brought him in contatct with some of the areas best musicians. TENMAN would go on to play drums with menbers of the east coast horns - they were the horn section for the Jacksons, mille Jackson, and CAMEO. He would also be asked play in bands with other elite musicians in jax like Jimmy Elps, John Vaughn, Gary - littleman -Cob, Kieth King, MAMA- DOO ,and Phil Robinson just to name a few. In the mid 80s TENMAN helped give birth to the hiphop sene in jacksonville by producing songs for local artist and performing in shows with DOUG E FRESH, CLAY D, and CHILL DEAL- aka 95 south- aka 69 boyz . The early 90s would find TENMAN breaking into the local R&B sene as a part of a band called TMQ - taylor made quality- who gained local fame by wooing the croud with its originally composed songs and their versatility as a band. " One knight we'd show up without instruments and blow'em away with five part harmonies and dance steps and the next night we'd show up with our axes and show'em that we can play , sing and dance too." Although TENMAN's experiences with TMQ brought him local fame, appearances on local T.V., the contract to provide the sound track for a locally shot movie, and several other local recording deal oppertunities; none of them worked out fully and the band broke apart. Disapointment and depression would take over and accompany TENMAN into the dark depts of a life of druguse and crime. He would linger in that life for the next few years untill a robbery charge would land him in prison for 10 years. " Those 10 years gave me time to find me again. I needed to find out where it all went wrong, how i had become someone - something else-.I knew i had to focus, find, and redefine myself mentally, physically and most of all spritually because I had lost my soul in the darkness that was inside of me. It took GOD's light to shine in me. Only the father could find my soul and clean it so that i would be able to face the world again and stan on his word in this situation that I created for myself - a convicted felon in america , especially here in Florida.- So I won't fall again. Since his release in 2006 TENMAN has been able to rebuild his life way beyon his expectations... "GOD has given me back everything i lost seven fold and much more than i could wish for." TENMAN is thankful to our creator for all he has given to him especially his music which he is once again writting and composing songs in his home studio. TENMAN is in the mist of self producing his first solo project CD called : FARFROMFREE. The first offering from the CD called, NULIPH (new life) is a up beat colorful jazz tune that will lock you in to the grove of it's pulse-like percussions and drop bass-drum hits. The song also features different lead instruments that constantly move the song in it's celabration of NULIPH. check it out ! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
