Born in the Bronx, NY and moved around a bit but ended up in New Orleans in 2001, A. Melody attended Xavier Univ. and then transfered to Dillard University and majored in Music Vocal Performance. She has been singing since the age of 5 in a church choir and writing music since the age of 9, she also has collaborated with many artists and producers and performed at various venues. Currently Miss A. Melody or A.Mel as some call her is residing in Atlanta, GA pursuing her music career and trying to escape her harsh environment in New Orleans which she lived for 8 years between the 7th and 6th ward. Music is her motivation to provide her family with a better living while at the same time supplying her with a peace of mind from the troubles in her life. Growing up in a single parent home struggling was a way of life. So she decided to move to New Orleans and continue her education. After hurricane Katrina she relocated to Brooklyn, NY and once again had to start all over again in a new city while still doing her music. A year later she moved back to New Orleans to finish college and remained there for the next three years on the grind trying to make it in this industry, but the economy and the violence increasing around her was too much to bare, therefore God sent her an open door..to Atl. Having her sister move to East Point from Brooklyn was a blessing, now with all the avenues here in Atlanta A. Melody can finally have her voice heard..Stay tuned & lookout for Miss A.Melody!!
