Cord Donte, one of the hottest up and coming underground artists on the hottest up and coming underground labels in Houston, Texas, is no stranger to good music and the way it influences the masses. While growing up in the early 90's, he found himself interested in hip-hop at the tender age of 10, listening to the early works of 2pac, Public Enemy, NWA, UGK, and many more. being raised in a family of soul, he found the work of Marvin Gaye, Willie Hutch, Gladys Knight and The Pips, and many more soul and classic r&b more interesting, which influenced most of his favorite instrumentals
Cord Donte considers his music to be a powerful message, that wants to speak to the unconscious mind about the realities of life. "The music industry has gotten to a point where there's no feeling, no emotion" he speaks. "for a long time it has influenced the society we see today. it seems to distract us from whats real in life, by making us believe that material things and stereotypes is whats real. people are dying/killing each other to live that lifestyle." While Cord Donte is no saint, he hopes to reach his audience and make positive out of his music. "I want to represent all walks of life, and let people know that there's more to life than what they see on TV and hear on the radio. its entertainment."
