Michael lives and breathes everything MUSIC. Throughout his life, music has been on his family’s radio in the house and cars, but Michael did not get involved in music until the early part of 2009. Since then, music has become his life blood. Without the two, “A life without music, life would be meaningless and empty.”
In 2009, Michael entered the journalism and broadcasting program at Mt. SAC and joined the Mountaineer as a staff writer. This is where Michael’s career is beginning to take shape. In May of 2009, Michael won two awards for best podcast and is earning worldwide attention with over 75,000 iTunes subscribers and this number grows at a rapid pace. He was also invited to attend a pre-Grammy Award celebration, including an invite to the 52nd Annual Grammy’s. Michael is now an active body of the Recording Academy and plans to pursue a career in the field of music business and radio broadcasting.
March 2009 – current: Michael is also a DJ for his own podcast show called, The Great Unknowns Presents, which started in March of 2009. The show focuses on new music from the unsigned and independent music industry and it is not just the typical music program. What makes this show stand out from other podcasts is each and every artist that is featured on each episode makes a special guest appearance. In conjunction to the podcast, Michael is also the creator and editor of the online music publication called, Great Unknowns Music Exposé.
