Coming from an area focused on rapid-fast hi-hats, snares, and 808's, BakahBeats aka Sly is a young aspiring producer that is destined to make history in the music world. With influences consisting of Organized Noize, Timbaland, and nothing but what he calls "Good Music", he believes that music is more than just a form of entertainment. He focuses on surprising his listeners with out of the box, unorthodox production melodies and compositions.
I can remember first beating on the table in class back in ’96 after I heard “One In A Million” by Aaliyah. I just loved the drum pattern. It was infectious. I really didn’t know what I was doing but I was fascinated by it. It wasn’t until January 2004 when somebody gave me a copy of fruity loops to try out. It took me a few days to learn the software, but I made my first beat Super Bowl Sunday.
"I am always looking to inspire. I enjoy taking an empty space of sound and allowing my mind to freely create. Music is in all of us. The biggest challenge I had first starting out, was getting my hands to play exactly what I was thinking." Now armed with Reasons, Pro Tools, and a Yamaha Motif, look for BakahBeats to make his mark in the music industry. Taking listener’s back to timeless music. Back to music that makes you remember where you were the first time you heard it.
