I have been performing my own original songs with top, rockin' blues bands, as a guest singer, throughout the East for over 20 years.
I never sang a song I knew, as the songs were all improvised, ad-libbed originals. 90% of my improvisational songs went over well live. Of course, you take a big chance when you make up your own lyrics to a new song that the band creates for you.
I finally decided to record some of my own songs, with my original lyrics. Some songs relate to Tennis, the sport I've played since age 5, and other songs are just party songs. I've recorded this CD of 9 original songs at different studios, which gives some a different sound. One song titled "One-On-One Doubles" was recorded by Marcel Anton Band, a former New Orleans guitar wizard now residing in South Florida. The song is of the Blues, Rock and Swing genre of music. Another rendition of the song was recorded by the great D.W. Gill, an East-Coast Blues harp legend with both of us singing. All the songs tell a story and have a touch of rowdiness/enthusiasm to them. The "Excuse-Making Blues" is a true original that most sports people and business people will appreciate.
"Poolstick Larry" is about a certain, local Tennis and Football legend that some people can relate to.
I am a very friendly person who likes to respect all people and find the good in everyone.
I like connecting people with others.
I will probably start performing more locally on the Rockin' Blues scene with some of the best.
