SYNOPSIS for Poetic Elixir.
Mar 31, 2009
SYNOPSIS Poetic Elixir is a mixture of poetry and fiction based on love. Whether love brings pain and sorrow or joy and jubilation, it is a pivotal aspect of all human relationships. Sometimes it can be difficult to express your true feelings. However, once you are given the opportunity to peruse the full scope of a situation, usually after the fact, many different scenarios come to mind. It is in an attempt to capture the true feelings brought on by these situations that inspired the writings in Poetic Elixir. Though most of the poetry in Poetic Elixir is based on events which occurred in my life, some are merely fictional writings which were lived vicariously through my imagination. I hope you will enjoy Poetic Elixir. Remember that love, while often times painful, frustrating and humiliating, can also be beautiful, enriching and life altering. May all of your love relationships be miraculous.

SPRUNG
Mar 28, 2009
SPRUNG Are the visions that pulsate through my brain cells really true? They only seem to show up when I'm thinking about you I can't control the shockwaves that hit me like a bolt I can't control the shaking, or the spasm or the jolt You invade my brain and squeeze my thought process into bits Other thoughts, no not likely, so I'll give up, call it quits But you're worth it, so I gladly surrender to the flow Besides, what else can give me such a thrill from head to toe? From the moment that I heard your voice my body came alive I seriously debate that without you I could survive So, just what is that voodoo that you do so very well? Is it science, is it sexual, or is it just a spell? I doubt that in a million years I'll ever figure out Just what this magic brain control I'm under is all about But, please do keep giving me your sexy ESP I'll keep it on the down low, between just you and me. GENETIC STRANGERS
Mar 25, 2009
GENETIC STRANGERS Contently sailing along, when through coincidence and circumstance We were thrust into each others’ lives; bound through blood and DNA Though we're family we've just met, through pure and utter chance I didn't know that you existed, never knew until today So we smile and embrace; we gently share our hearts Our eyes, filled with emotion, are overflowing with tears For a deeply sacred secret has effectively kept us apart It seems we've missed each others’ lives for more than thirty years Who's to blame for such thievery…was it Father, was it Mother? The question subtly lingers in the back of my mind All I know is that I've been blessed with a brand new Brother There's a new love in my life that I'm so thankful to find. Though resentment would be easy and hatred is knocking at the door Letting it in won't buy us time no matter what we do So we've decided that forgiveness would net us so much more We'll begin to build our relationship and focus on the new. DRAMA PRELUDE - LANCE
Mar 25, 2009
Drama Prelude - Lance It was a dreary night. Frigid, moist, foggy and darker than usual. Lance was quietly padding down “B” street, a well-known, well-traveled thoroughfare that ran along the harbor. He felt a bit uneasy because there was absolutely no one in sight. Not to mention, many of the street lamps were out, so the fog made it almost impossible to see five feet in front of him. The briefcase he carried now seemed to become extremely heavy as did pain in his chest. He began to ask himself, “What am I doing here?” Lance had received a disturbing call earlier. A long time friend from his college days had called him and said that he was in trouble. He begged Lance to meet him on “B” street at 9:00 P.M. behind the tuna factory. He said that he had gotten into some debt, thanks to his gambling problem and that if he didn’t give his bookie fifty-thousand big ones by midnight he could “cancel Christmas”. His voice was shaky and Lance could actually feel him sweating through the phone. Now, since Lance hadn’t seen Jack in what must be twelve years, he thought it pretty peculiar that he would call him in his time of need. It was true that Lance had managed to cultivate a thriving real estate firm that specialized in some very wealthy clientele. This did not mean that he had $50,000.00 just sitting in a cookie jar in his kitchen. So, naturally the first words out of Lances’ mouth were “Did you call the police?” Jack, in a pleading voice responded “Please Lance, NO POLICE! These guys are for real. They’d KILL me for sure!” Then just as suddenly as Jack had called, the phone went dead and Lance found himself with the weight of an elephant on his shoulders. So here he was, all alone, on a mission to save the life of his old friend. As he looked to his left, he saw a large neon sign with a graphic of a fisherman catching a tuna fish. “Alistair’s Tuna Factory”, he had finally reached his destination. Lance walked around to the back entrance as instructed and stop by the huge, bolted steel door. “What the hell have I gotten myself into?” he muttered as the door began to open.
