Pinky grew up in Detroit, Michigan listening to the influences of Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Juan Atkins and other pioneering House and Techno artists. Being a member of a hip hop dance group in the 80's afforded Pinky the opportunity to absorb pure house and techno sounds into her soul in order to incorporate the interpretations into pure body movements. Being present at the "Birthing"of the electronic genre, gives pinky a unique perspective on the gradual morphing of sounds that we call House and Techno in today's world.
Pinky began producing music in 2000 and has rapidly sought to create her own unique sound and style. Her musical range can fluctuate from Tribal,Vocal, and Deep House to Electro and Detroit Techno. Pinky says...." I always knew that if you want to stand out, you must first observe what everyone else is doingthen do the opposite and make it sound better". "I got tired of the commercial music that the radio stations push on the masses. I feel that people should be able to interpret the music according to how it makes them feel when they listen to it. Therefore, I decided to make what I wanted to hear and the kind of music that makes me feel good. Dance music was not meant to be heard one song at a time.
Being a technical sound engineer at heart Pinky has mastered the releases of artists worldwide. Her ear for sound and perfection is sought after and respected by many of her peers. Her most recent work can be heard on the "Afromation" album by Reggie Dokes and on some musical releases by Delano Smith of Mixmode recordings
Pinky is currently producing music in the realm of Deep House that is thoughtful, introspective and carefree. Soft moody synth lines and horns delicately sprinkled on top of complex and driving beats, make's Pinky2dye4's sound unique, innovative and sure to pack dance floors for many years to come! Pinky has worked side by side with other pioneering artists in the Detroit area including Delano Smith, Reggie Dokes, and Mike Grant. Her latest release "Understanding Neith" under Moods and Grooves on the "These New Cats from Detroit EP" has received rave reviews worldwide. Pinky will be releasing a new EP soon and will keep all of you informed. God Bless!
