I started learning to be a guitarist about 24 years ago. Two of my older brothers took me under their wing and taught me to play. My third older brother, not to be left out, taught me to play drums. They’ve all been a source of influence and inspiration over the years. Whatever I’ve learned along the way I have to thank them for getting me started. Over the years I’ve been influenced by more players then I can recall. In the 70’s I listened to whatever Rock I could find. I made it through high school with the hair bands. I had a few favorites in the 90’s. Kings X comes to mind first, but there were others.
I’ve developed and maintained a great respect for Frank Marino over time. He is truly one of the more under appreciated guitarists out there for that past 30 odd years.
Having said this, I must admit I never had a favorite guitarist that I felt I had to emulate. I’m a fan of anyone who plays from the heart. Anyone can learn technique. Practice can allow you to sound like any number of other players who’ve developed their own sound. True feel is a gift. These are the great players that I try to learn from. If I can take something away from them to help me create my own sound…my own voice…then I feel I’m on the road to being a better musician.
This philosophy has opened the doors to many different styles and genres of music. If you truly listen you can learn from any great player, whether he’s on a guitar, sax, piano… you get the idea.

Until I read your bio page, I had no idea you were a Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush fan. Me too. That's a good influence to have. :{)
