I've been working with midi / DAW based music since 2005, using Cakewalk's Sonar and various Vsti plugins and effects. (I've had no training whatsoever in creating music / music theory aside from what I've read in Computer Music magazine's.) I'm mostly into trance music (both creating and listening), as well as Drum n Bass, and some rock, though I stay away from making rock music - mainly because I don't play the guitar.
I've been 'playing' the keyboard / piano by ear (I cannot read music at all) since I was 6 years old, though I usually stick to 'piano-rolls' and midi for melodies. My main inspiration for music are other trance artists' like Sandra Collins, Darren Tate, Armin Van Buuren, and DnB artists like Pendulum, and The Prodigy.
