(BLUES FROM THE HEART) From a very young age "Slim" has always been the creative type. This is mainly because being creative allowed him to escape for a few moments from the troubles and hardships that his life had to offer. It was in his late teens that he first picked up a guitar, and quite literally made a noise. His father told him "why dont you learn how to play that thing properly". It was these words that stuck in Slim's head right up until this present day. He taught him self and also learned from books and videos for the first eight years of his guitar life, then took a few lessons after that just to try and put all he had learned into perspective. He learned everything from rock to jazz, but nothing that really helped him communicate the experiences of his downtrodden life. One day he walked into a small guitar shop to buy some strings. It was there he heard a man preaching the blues with his guitar. This is when the penny dropped; "this his how im gonna tell my pain" he said to himself. From then on he began to learn the blues and write music and lyrics with truth and feeling...... His aim is to write and play his own style of blues that touches the listener in some way and he also loves to cover his favourite blues songs that were written by the legends and pioneers of the genre. He also likes to keep his recordings raw to give them that "true down home feeling"....... please take a moment to listen!!!!!
