What self-possessed producer would be bold enough to call himself ‘DRATHOVEN?’ First of all, one would have to be poised enough to be able to give the industry a dose of unforeseen playability and production, in other words he’d have be able to get down on the keys for real; which he does. Secondly, he’d have to be no stranger to versatility, having an exceptional ability to produce and write ‘heaters,’ for all types of artists, which he does. Lastly, he’d have to possess a unique talent of creating hundreds of polished original songs and tracks that are rooted in the essence of R&B/Hip-Hop, Pop, Soul, and Gospel, which of course he does. Houston’s best kept secret has played piano since he was six years old. He still has the first piano his grandmother gave to his mother who passed down to him when he first began taking lessons in school and went on to play in church for several years. Giving credit to his ear for a great production, rather than his ability to read music, Drathoven, is a pianist by nature. He sharpened his craft while working under the influence of such industry heavyweights like, Errol “Poppi” McCalla, and is a mentee of veteran producer, Simon “Crazy C” Cullins. Drathoven is also known as 1/2 of the production duo The Hit League. Previously known for sitting in the A&R seat of Paid-In Full Entertainment. Locally, Drathoven is no stranger either having put the twist down on many of Houston’s popular pool of established as well as up and coming talent.
