The Missing "R" word
Feb 5, 2009
One vital aspect of true Christianity remains almost unknown—and widely misunderstood. Is the missing "R" word in your vocabulary? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No, it is not "recession"—though many economists fear one is coming. It is not even "resurrection"—though that word is often left out or completely misunderstood by professing Christians. Then what is it? It is the word that God's servants have described, again and again, as the first step of genuine Christianity—the first step toward eternal life. When John the Baptist came preparing the way for Jesus Christ's ministry, he began by saying: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" (Matthew 3:2). The gospel of Mark records: "John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins" (Mark 1:4–5). Then Jesus Christ came, proclaiming: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel" (vv. 14–15). And: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). On the Day of Pentecost, when the New Testament Church actually began, God inspired the Apostle Peter to challenge the thousands who heard his voice: "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). The entire New Testament clearly shows that God's Holy Spirit is granted only after genuine repentance and sincere acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That is a vital point, often completely overlooked or "watered down" by "mainstream" churches today! I know that certain mainstream evangelists use the word "repent" from time to time—though not nearly as often as they should. However, in nearly every instance, they utterly fail to give a true biblical explanation of what repentance is all about. Notice how the above verses explain that you must repent and be baptized for the "remission of sins." If you repent and are properly baptized, your sins are to be forgiven. Obviously, then, the first step is to "repent" of sin! But what is "sin?" Why do so many who call themselves Christ's ministers fail to tell you the inspired biblical definition of "sin?" Because it would automatically condemn their "just believe" gospel! Because it would clearly indicate how shallow and misguided their "just give your heart to the Lord" message truly is! Please notice carefully the biblical definition of sin: "Sin is the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4, KJV). In plain language, "sin" is breaking the Ten Commandments! Yet almost every "mainstream Protestant" preacher will recite the mantra: "You are saved by grace, so you don't have to keep the Ten Commandments!" Some will admit that the Ten Commandments are a "good general guide" for living, but insist that Christians "are not bound to keep them, as they are now under the new covenant." Or they may say: "Christ nailed the Ten Commandments to the cross, so they are now done away." Do you get the picture? If you doubt me on this, please, please go and ask your own pastor: "Are Christians today commanded to keep all the Ten Commandments?" If you ask the question in this way, you will definitely get some variation of the answers or excuses that I have just cited! Why? The Ten Commandments Contradict Our Western Lifestyle If our nominally Christian friends really followed Jesus' instruction and example, they would have to stop all the wars! Yet many of our wars in the last several hundred years have involved "Christians" killing "Christians." World War I saw Ge
Do You Believe the true Gospel?

What did Jesus really preach? Do you know? Do not be too sure! Just what did Jesus mean by "the Kingdom of God"? Here is the exciting Good News: There IS a new world coming! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frankly, millions of sincere men and women have put up with a false gospel. They have been deceived all right-far too easily deceived. Why? Because too many have failed to obey God's command to "prove all things" (1 Thessalonians 5:21, KJV). Jesus Christ said, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:15). Have you believed the same Gospel, which Jesus preached? You need to be sure! There are many, many "gospels" being preached in the world today! Have you ever heard something like this? "Just give your heart to the Lord. Jesus was born in the manger as the Christ, the Son of God, to save as many souls in this age as would accept Him into their hearts. When He grew up, He went around performing miracles and forgiving people. He kept God's harsh law for all of us before finally being nailed to the cross along with that old law. He rose from the dead on the third day and appeared to many witnesses. Then He returned to heaven and began to set up His Kingdom in the hearts of men. He'll forgive your sins and come into your heart-just as you are-if you'll only accept Him. Jesus saves! Just believe on Him, and you'll be saved-born again. And, when you die, you'll go to be with Him in heaven-forever!" But is that really the Gospel Jesus taught? If you have accepted, without question, the almost unanimous voice of mainstream Christianity in this regard, you probably think that it is. Yet consider what Mark Twain wrote: "In religion and politics, people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing" [media] . Do you really know what constitutes the genuine Gospel that Jesus and His Apostles preached? Or have you made a careless assumption, following the crowd as Mark Twain noted, taking your beliefs from second-hand suppositions? Probably you were taught the mainstream understanding of "the Gospel" while growing up. Or maybe you learned it from the barrage of religious publications and broadcasts that exist in our modern world. In any case, you have, more than likely, not seen the need to question your beliefs. After all, most professing Christian authorities are in agreement here. Surely, they must be right. Or are they? In His famous Olivet Prophecy, Jesus Christ warned, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many" (Matthew 24:4-5, KJV). Many modern versions place quotations around "I am Christ," assuming that Christ was talking about individuals who would claim to actually be Christ themselves. However, there have not been "MANY" such people in recent centuries that have been taken seriously, much less deceived the "MANY." Another interpretation some have offered is that Jesus was referring to false "Savior" figures like Hitler and Mussolini. But this is really taking liberties with the text. Remember, Christ said, "Many shall come IN MY NAME." A clearer rendering of what Jesus meant would be: "Take care that no one leads you astray. Indeed, many will appear, making use of My name, saying that I am Christ, yet deceiving many." What an astounding warning! Christ was foretelling that MANY false preachers would talk about Him and that they would proclaim that He is the Christ, the expected Messiah. Yet even after acknowledgi
Can u really change your life?

Countless millions are experiencing broken lives, broken marriages, broken families and broken dreams. They find life overwhelming and do not know how to make it any different, yet mainstream Christianity does not have the answers. Can God really bring about change in your life? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did you ever wish—even for a second—that God had not shown you the truth, because you felt like you could never live up to His high standard? Because you felt like you were not going to make it?" These words were written by a Christian in agony. He had been a drug addict since age 11. He saw the truth of God's great plan and purpose. He believed it! But when he looked at himself, and at his many weaknesses and problems, he felt overwhelmed. Was real change simply an impossible dream? What about you? Maybe drug or alcohol abuse is not your particular problem. Yet this world is filled with people who have broken lives, broken marriages, broken families and broken dreams. They find life overwhelming and do not know how to make it any different. They are not where they are because they want to be there, but rather because they do not know how to be somewhere else. Mainstream Christianity does not have the answers. "Just give your heart to the Lord," the preachers say. Many sincere people have walked down the proverbial sawdust trail at revival meetings and evangelistic campaigns, only to find a few days later that the "new" religion has worn off and they are really no different than they were a little earlier, except that one more hope has gone. There is a multi-billion dollar industry directed at people who want to change what they are and how they feel. There are psychiatrists and psychologists. There are books and diets that guarantee to make a new person out of you, not to mention cosmetics, hair transplants, toupees and even plastic surgery—all supposed to give you self-confidence and change your self-image. Of course our western world, and America in particular, is a pill-oriented culture. Whether it is children who wriggle and squirm and do not pay attention in class, or adults who feel "stressed" about problems of the job or problems in their families, drugs are proffered as the answer. The fact that abortion is the most common surgical procedure in America, and that Valium is the most commonly prescribed drug, ought to tell us something. The changes many people seek are changes in the effects they are experiencing in life—while ignoring the actual causes of those effects! Recognizing the Need for Changed Lives In 1935 two men, given up by most who knew them as hopeless alcoholics, met in an Akron, Ohio hotel room. Known to millions as Bill W. and Dr. Bob, they began a fellowship known as Alcoholics Anonymous, and shared with other alcoholics 12 steps that have dramatically improved hundreds of thousands of lives. In the more than 65 years since that first meeting, similar programs have proliferated, as many seek desperately to change their lives and to stop letting alcohol and drug abuse mask life's problems. An entire "self help" industry has grown, offering books and videos with varying techniques and approaches. Some are directed at those who suffer from phobias or who have been scarred by abuse—many are aimed at people who simply want to be more effective in achieving their goals. Some take a purely secular psychological approach, while others present themselves as "Christian psychologists." What is the common thread? Simply put, millions recognize the need for change in their lives. They feel unfulfilled and dissatisfied with what they are and with where they are headed. For all of the multi-million dollar industries that are derived from man's frustration with himself, what is the res
Are u willing to change?

Your very life depends upon your willingness to change. Your eternity depends on what you do with God's revealed truth, which leads to eternal life. But knowing the truth is not enough. God wants you to act. Will you respond? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In just the last few years, millions of viewers have watched the Tomorrow's World telecast, or read the Tomorrow's World magazine, or viewed the www.tomorrowsworld.org Web site. With each passing month, thousands upon thousands more are hearing this message for the very first time. They are reading the strong, plain-spoken Bible-based articles appearing in the Tomorrow's World magazine. They have studied our booklets and articles, showing the truth about the existence of their divine heavenly Father—the Creator—who gives them every breath they draw. They have seen the utter ludicrousness of the evolutionary fantasy and other false teachings. They listen, they read and they talk. Perhaps they talk to family members, or friends, or people at the office. Perhaps they talk to people at church, or at school. Already, they listen, and they read and they talk. Yes, they listen, and they read and they talk—but what will they do? What will you do? God says: "So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. And when this comes to pass—surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them" (Ezekiel 33:31–33). What is it going to take for you to know, personally, that true servants of Almighty God are speaking to you over the Tomorrow's World telecast? What is it going to take for you to heed and act on the knowledge you are receiving through the Tomorrow's World telecast, magazine and Web site? How much will prophesied supernatural punishment have to affect you, personally, before you are willing to change your ways and obey God? For that is the key—your willingness to change. Many thoughtful people are intellectually convinced by what they hear over the Tomorrow's World telecast and read in the pages of the Tomorrow's World magazine—and they know it is right. But they resist and resent having to change their way of life! Yet, in this age above all others, your willingness to change and accept and obey the truth God is revealing through His servants in these end times is the key to your very survival—now and forever. Before much longer, you will be able to see that this is not just a sentimental idea—it is a fact. Your Attitude Is the Key Down through the ages, every true servant of God has preached a message of change. This is simply because people have always tended to go the way of human nature—the way of vanity, selfishness, lust, hate and war. As if with one voice, these faithful servants of God have cried out about the national crimes and sins of their peoples—not only in righteous indignation or wrath, but out of deep, personal concern. Ezekiel cried, "Why should you die, O house of Israel?" (Ezekiel 18:31). Jeremiah lamented, "For He [media] does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men" (Lamentations 3:33). Ezekiel and Jeremiah saw, with keen insight, the sickening excesses and sins of their people. They saw, through God's special revelation, the prophesied punishments those people were bringing on themselves. And they urged their people, whom they loved and wanted with all their hearts to serve, to repent of their sins—to change. Each answered the cries of p
