Melvin Hamilton Jr was born on June 24,1989 in North Philadelphia P.A. Some of yall know him by his stage name Mello. At the age five Melvin was already a star, by preaching on his great grandmother steps, with pops and pans and with a spoon as a microphone, this kid was not playing. The family always had music on and when it was Sunday it was time for church. His mother, grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins and great grand’s all sing in the church, so you know Mello has soul in his blood. Not only he has soul, this kid have a heart with love. Every time you seen this kid he had a smile on his face, bad or good days he kept you laughing. By entertaining you by mocking his idol Michael Jackson. I’m telling you he had the glove, hat and shoes, doing the moon walk and singing I wonna rock with you and singing Billie Jeans. The family got him on tape doing Michael Jackson at his godmothers wedding, he blew everybody away at the age eleven nobody couldn’t stop him Mello was a dancing machine. Not only he was a dancing Machine, Mello also love writhing poetry, rapping and singing ,playing basketball and foot ball, and love going to school. Staying focused was his job because, growing up without his father Mello had no choice to become a man at a early age. Only him, his mother and baby brother in the house Mello had to do something, so he turn to his passion and goal music. Around the 10th grade, all he was doing was listening to a lot of Rap, R and B, trying to found his flow.
The main mc’s Mello listening to wasTupac,AZ,Nas,Biggie, Jay-z,50cent,Rakim,Krs-One,Jrule,Buckshot,Dmx,lupe,Mos Def, and many more. At that time he was trying to found his own style because, everybody in Philly was sounding the same to him. By being a battle rapper or a thug, and he didn’t want to become in that group. So he chill back and watch and learn how his step cousins Mark and his friend Joe green was in the studio. Mello started to take notes, him and his cousin use to clown a lot in the studio to get a feel on how it was to record and work in a studio. But Mello just stayed focused in school and gave music a break. But he kept writing and practicing on his flow and word play. Until then Mello was into working on basketball and trying to make money. Until, he had got bad news that two of his good peoples had passed away, Joe Green and his Step Cousin Chris. that’s what made Mello go hard and stayed focused in the studio because now what’s left is good mummeries. So by the end of the 10th grade, Mello had found his flow and made a Mixtape called the Rebirth Of Hip-hop. Then by the end of the summer he had made another Mixtape called The Flash Back. This kid was on his a game by himself. Getting shows, nobody couldn’t stop him, its like he leaved in the studio. He had got the chance to perform in Jamaica in Montego Bay, everybody was shock because, they didn’t think he was going to keep going. People in school was saying he was corny, trash, not going to make it, by his third Mixtape called The Show, Mello was on fire with his hit Mixtape Song Hip-hop is my baby. First time he performed that song, everybody in the building went crazy. Boys and girls and adults couldn’t stop singing that song. Even his teachers in the school ask him to perform it in the talent show at school. By Mello staying to himself at that time, god had came down and blessed him with a hit song that touch everybody.
From their, Mello had got back in the studio with Dis-One, one of the best producers in Philadelphia had record Mel on his fourth Mixtape called Higher. How Dis-One and Mello meet was through Mello good friend and Dis-one good friend that had passed away Joe Green. If it wasn’t for Joe, Mello and Dis wouldn’t know each others. But we like to thank him because they are making hits together. Now that Mel has a hit song and performing at nice events, he had open up for the Harlem globe trotters and the Philadelphia Sixers at the Wachovia center
