Y.M.S was born in Georgetown Guyana on 26th Aug. 1985; named after his father Colin Goddard, He is the first born of three. He grew up surrounded by Music in the middle class community of North Ruimveldt. Thus developing a love for the craft at a very young age. A smart child; by the tender age of eight he was already tending to customers in his mom and dads small variety shop; a chore he didn't much enjoy but one that would start him on his musical journey. He replaced playing outdoors with peers with listening to the sounds of artiste like Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Benne Man, Shaba Ranks, Burning Spear and a variety of others; on his fathers stereo to pass the time while attending to the shop. Realizing that he knew what rhyming word came next before the singer sang them he began experimenting with the craft of song writing. His mom and dad parted ways when he was twelve years old. A very painful and troublesome period in his life; He used music as a vent for the frustrations of this stressful point in his life. Y.M.S then called "lil bat" started listening to rap music mainly the likes of Eminem and D12 who's troubled background and hard cord rap lyrics identified with the then troubled teen. During his teens he was in an out of trouble expelled from school, fights and finally incarcerated in his late teens; All the while recording his life trials, with his developed art of song writing.
