When I was born, my Dad bought a guitar from a friend of his who was down on his luck. Little did my Dad realize the impact that would have on our early lives. Dad had never even held a guitar before that day. He placed it in the closet for about a year, Then when Keith was born, Mom & Dad first child, they began to go to church. After another year had passed, I was born. Dad had made some good friends at church. They told Dad if he brought his guitar, they would show him some cords. So Dad did. He learned so fast. It was truely amazing. By the time I was 2 years old. Dad had already began to teach me and my brother how to sing. There was a third child now, Barry. Every time we went to church, people wanted to hear us sing. Barry would stand up there with us. He was still just a baby. But by the time he was 2 years old, we were singing at a lot of different churches. I guess over the 14 or 15 years we sang together as a Family Group, there are not many churches in North and South Carolina where we haven't sang. We were very popular, and in demand at the time. Over the course of those 14 or 15 years, we traveled many hours and miles. We never charged anything to go sing. We felt like God gave us the talent to share, not charge. My Mom & Dad worked a regular job. We lived simple and true. Our car was second hand and about 8 years from new. The amazing thing is, I can't recall not 1 time did we ever have car trouble at that time. We were never sick. We always had our needs and bills, and nessities of life met. We never even had a flat tire at that time in our lives. God was trully watching out for us. Now to show just how the devil works. Dad was able to start building us a home. Now we could own a home instead of renting one. We thought it was God Blessing us. But we were very wrong. Soon troubles began to mount. There was trouble out of the land Dad had bought. Trouble from the home Dad had decided on. Troubles from the carpenters. Troubles, troubles, troubles. It began to take Dad's time, money, and energy. Dad finished the whole inside of the home himself, so as to save money. Which in turn, turned out to be a huge mistake. Even to this day, the inside of the home is not what Mom or Dad wanted. But the home began to take away our time we spent singing and sharing God's Love to people and churches. Less and less did we do the Will of God. More and more time had to be spent doing the will of the home, (devil). To top it all off. I found out why there is a difference in men and women. I thought I was in love. I broke away from the family, got married, and stoped singing. But of course, we had all but stoped singing anyway due to the fact of so much work went into building a home. The devil won. God was robbed. Now, I have one brother dead. One lives in Virginia, One lives in South Carolina, and one lives way up in the mountains. They all have their own families now. Time, money, work, and many factors keeps us apart and from coming together again as a family band. We now only come together 1 time a year, at Christmas time. That is only for at the most part 2 days. All but 2 of my brothers have lost intrest in making music. Even my Mom doesn't sing anymore. We are all plagued by some kind of illness. I have a lung disorder and heart troubles, One brother has had brain surgery. One can't hardly walk. The other has had both knees replaced. My Mom is facing a bone deficiency, and my Dad has had heart surgery, Colon cancer, and still has health issues. My Mom and Dad are raising there 3 great grandchildren. Their mom is a drug user. All 3 have different dads. None pay support, or visit, except one. Often times I wonder just what my life would have been today. If we had kept on doing what God had intended for us to do. Would we all live so far apart? Would we have ever gotten married? Would we have ever gotten sick? Would our finan
