Time Brings Progression, Progression Reveals Passion.......RoC
From the tender age of five, RoC The Producer was attached to music. His earliest memories are of he and his siblings listening to their fathers' analog reel to reel tape player. Those memories are treasured moments in which Roc remembers being drawn in to the music, and he has gravitated to it ever since.
It was a combination of soulful 70's music and catchy synthesized R&B from the early 80's that first caught his attention. At age ten, RoC stumbled upon his uncles' massive record collection in the basement of his home and his curiosity for authentic music styles and iconic artists grew. He mustered up the courage to play his fathers' stereo without permission, and his passion for music increased. Almost instantly, the well over 5000 Lp's and crates of records became an invaluable treasure. Nothing would separate young RoC from his new found love for music.
At age 13, RoC began to mimic his Uncle "Joe Bolton", a young man known for his incredible "b boy" style of dance skills in 1983, and his dual turntable skills at local house parties from 1986-1990. If "Uncle Joe" was a rapper, so was RoC. If uncle Joe was a DJ, Roc followed after. If "Uncle Joe" was a music producer, Roc wanted to be the same. Uncle Joe had a large influence on the shaping of who Roc hoped to be, and who he became.
