Angel aka Amanda Parkinson, started RedDress in 2006, purely to gain an audience for her music. She began writing songs from the age of 12,
starting out on a simple Amiga program, and based them for computer games. She then moved onto Octamed Pro in 1989, and began creating her
own old skool dance songs, then giving them away to family, friends and friends of friends, which made her music popular locally.
Eventually she was given her first keyboard in 1995, a Yamaha DJX which she still uses to this day. She went on to purchasing the Yamaha DJX2 keyboard,
and combining the two, set up her own little studio in 2006 using ejay as a software. She quickly found out there was much better software out there to produce music with,
and after taking the plunge and purchasing Fruity loops 6, her music then flourished.
She first joined mp3unsigned and then myspace in 2006, and quickly became noticed.
RedDress music became increasingly popular and Angel signed her first record deal back in 2007 and had her first release finally in 2008,
as unfortunately she found out she had cancer and although going into remission in november 2008,
she was told the cancer had returned within just 3 months of remission and she is continuing to fight.
'People have been wonderful and the labels who signed with me have been so paitient,
ive promiced them and everyone else when i eventually beat cancer, i am coming back in such a big way,
it will be bigger than a bomb going off'.
