Born and raised in Astoria Queens NY, now resides in New Jersey. William Gaffney known as 1Betta has been viewed as a real artist, as well as determined. At age 9, he had an interested in hip hop listening to Eminem, Tribe Called Quest, and Nas. He found an interest in poetry and wrote every day. He started entering poetry contests when his school friends read his work. There was a big poetry contest when he was 14, featuring 60,000 people. William took his opportunity and came 2nd place in the contest, but had no ride to Washington D.C. He had a dream in 2007 about writing 3 hit songs and performing at Madison Square Garden. He had to develop his flow, but his lyrics developed well. 1Betta had a lot of music artists showing a lot of love telling him he has a unique style as well as Zar who was a former A&R for Atlantic Records and independent labels who wanted him.
