A number of factors influenced the focus on such subject matter. our music defined as a depressive rock, as a descriptive term rather than a genre term. incorporation of heavy rock influences such as tool, dream theater, APC, nirvana, alice and chains, STP, radiohead, staind, pearljam, soundgarden and finest pinoy rock. Sober's use of the Pixies' "soft verse, hard chorus" popularized this stylistic approach in both grunge and other alternative rock subgenres.
