Hi there
I'm a 40yr (damn getting older) old Brit who enjoys music, vegetarian eating...alot and generally making a nuisance of myself wherever I can. Music has always been a love for me and getting out to gigs is a must.
I work in the social/healthcare sector, which can become depressing so I try to blog out my demons so I don't inflict them on the innocent.
I'm too stage shy to do my own stuff so I enjoy taking an active interest in others talents and seeing where these take them.

Well, after how long, I just don't know I'm back on here and checking out sounds. It has been, WOW! forever since I last posted so what the hell have I been up to? There was a lot of change in the work area, movement, upgrade, downgrade and now up again, I found myself in a relationship and surprisingly still in it and went to whole shit load of gigs. Tomorrow promises to be a great night of Rock and Roll Mayhem in Camden. If you in London, get on down there. Also grunge punk fest at the Birds Nest, Depford, Neck - Irish political/punk at the Bussey Building Peckham and who knows what other delights lay in store for a Saturday night. I shall take pics and post more now I finally remembered I was on here and my password! Hopefully stay connected and if your on Facebook check out the CrowdSource. My friend Spencer runs it and it a listing of free gig's in London. Enjoy :)
F**k The Royal Wedding

Well, what a weekend!!!! I went to first of a ll a squat party, which was excellent and a beautiflu day for it. It was in an old job centre which had been occupied for a wee while (I won't say where) and is being used to host gigs, political talks and film nights. The music was pumping, the sun was shining and not a royal banner in sight. Brilliant. Later on it was off to the FTRW gig. This was over two days and bands such as The Angelic Upstarts, Oi Polloi, The Restarts and Pater and the Test Tube babies put on a good show. I must confess I don't recall alot of it but apparentlt there are pics!!!!! On Sunday it was down the pub for a benefit gig to raise funeral costs for one of the patrons who sadly left this mortal coil last week. We were treated to an excellent Rockabilly band called Eaglenomics and The Phobics headlined - still going srong and sounding great after all these years. In all a fine bank holiday weekend. Back to work now...booo :( Even if it was some royal twats spending our money on their big day at least I got a long weekend, though in future I'd like any further royal engagements to happen offshore. Times are tight and I object to paying for police bodyguards, when they should be out catching rapists or something else worthwhile like their proper jobs. Lord knows most of us are struggling to hold onto ours. Nx
Summer time is here

Well, it's that time of year again. The sun is shining...booo..I hate the sun and the gigs are up and coming fast. May see's another Scumfest. 3 days of bands, poerty and punk. Blackpool in August is another 3 day event with loadsa punk and rock bands play. Obviously when I've been I shall be posting pics of these. This weekend though it's camping in Sussex and avoiding the Easter thing. Next week I'm avoiding the Royal Wedding (apparently the event of the decade) by heading off to a Fuck the Royal Wedding weekend. Peter and the Test Tube Babies will be heading lining and this promises to be a hum dinger of a weekend. More pics will come. Check out The King Blues. New album released on the 26th April for download and buy. Brilliant. My fav is 5 Bottles of Shampoo and We are Angry. Great tracks. Nx

Well, What a fine couple of weeks it's been. I went up to Glasgow for St Paddys Day on the 17th March and was lucky enough to see Stiff Little Fingers at the Barrowlands. I fine venue if a bit stinky! This was preceeded however with a trip to The Brazen Head where I saw an Irish folk band doing all the favs for the occasion and the Guiness flowed non-stop. I only spent 5 days in Glasgow but I would recommend it to anyone. Yes it has a bit of a rep as a bit, well, rough but the music was great and the people friendly. I also saw Celtiv v Rangers play at Hampden Park Stadium and loved it ( I am a celtic fan so there you go) My only difficulty was the distinct lack of black folks. I was the only person of colour at the gig, not even a bar staff or cleaner could take the edge off that. Edinbugh was slightly more cosmopolitan and I caught up with some very old mates so a good few days spent there as well. Check out a band called Moral Dilema if you like your music fast, dirty and grungey. April will be upon us soon and there are several Fuck the Royal Wedding events taking place. I'll keep you informed of how they go if I make it back alive that is :)
Gig and more gigs

So It's been a while since I last posted here, mainly due to moving home, working like a dog and oh, finally meeting someone after many years of just talking to the cat so life has been a wee bit peachy. My new found relationship has seen me going out to more gigs and events on the punk circuit and its been great. I would like to recommend a band called Falling Down. Female fronted punk band based here in London. Christie's Californian screeching vocals are placed over fast drumming and heavy bass lines. Well worth a listen. Check them out on Facebook. Another band worth a mention here are called Retard Bastards. I actually went to see Hard Skin and these guys were supporting. An excellent show and even though I love Hard Skin I would have been just as happy just seeing the support band. Tonight I'm off to see Moral Dilemma, old skool punk, which I'm looking forward to though no drinking as I'm at work tomorrow :( On the 12th March The Queers are playing Brighton so I'm off to that and then Glasgow with the new love of my life (their hometown) to see Stiff Little Fingers for St Paddy's Day and back to Brighton for Devilsh Pressley An excellent site for gigs if your in the UK is Eroding Empire. Its worth checking out. Laters Nx
thank you sexy Vanessa !!! ;) (for the friendship add... )
