Singer-Songwriter Dave MacLean has been part of the Canadian music scene for more than 15 years and in that time, has established himself as versatile songwriter. At the age of 14 he began playing guitar but, frustrated by the fact that he was a lefty, he abandoned the instrument for four years waiting to afford a left hand guitar. At 18 he picked up a right hand guitar again and has been playing ever since. By 22 Dave began writing songs and eventually felt confident enough in his own material to make a trip to Nashville. One of Dave's first original songs was extremely well received; enough for him to dive into songwriting at a more serious level. He continued to read and study songwriting and has attended numerous seminars and conferences to improve and refine his craft. A short time later, Dave joined together with several other local musicians and formed "The Cellar Dwellers". The band performed in the Toronto area for several years and released a CD. With the move to co-writing, Dave felt confident that his abilities had reached the level where a major project was necessary to showcase what he had to offer. This lead to his first full CD production release which is due out in the fall of 2008 and features a blend of traditional country themes tackled both humorously and seriously, blended with pop/rock rhythms and arrangements. The first single "Livin' for the Weekend" is set for a mid-summer release. For more information please see www.myspace.com/davemacleanmusic.
