Eddie Kane is a solo hip-hop artist, businessman, actor, and the creator of Kane Family Records. The artist and his recording studio have some turbulent history. What began as a Substance Distribution Center before Kane’s third incarceration was transformed into an escort service after his release, but a few years later Kane had become a skilled audio engineer. He tore down the business and set it up as a recording studio, and now it’s time to mess up the mainstream music scene.
Kane’s qualifications as a hip-hop artist include criminal charges ranging from narcotics to robbery and attempted murder. “I’m not proud of it, he says, “In and out since the age of thirteen – every two years, I got arrested. Violence was a part of Kane’s life since age nine, and sometimes violence was necessary. In the same spirit as 50 Cent, who resolved to “Get Rich or Die Tryin, Eddie Kane is willing to do whatever it takes to stay on top now that he’s off the street and living large. This theme is expressed in his song “Rocky, which celebrates the ideal of perseverance represented in the cinematic wisdom that underlies the character Rocky Balboa.
Kane’s claim to the game came after he served time on Rykers Island, where the United Blood Nation was created in 1993. Kane made connections among the Bloods during his five years in prison, so maybe it is sort of lucky that he did what he did to get sent away. If Kane hadn’t beaten that kid so badly with that pipe, he might never have served time on Ryker’s Island, and without the influence of the Bloods the music of Kane Family Records might never have been made.
This is about strength and determination. Much of the music is based on Kane’s motto: To get to the top, you must start from the bottom. Sometimes, hard luck is part of the path toward the top. Kane is in business to demonstrate this truth, and to make music and money for a lot of people. Anyone ready to get involved can visit www.KaneFamilyRecords.com
