Born into a house laden with guitars and music, Keith grew up in Fort Mill, SC in the 60’s. Not a lot to do back then in a sleepy little country town other than sports, music or just hanging out.
Keith’s love for music developed at an early age from listening to father, Ken Bayne pick guitars and playing in various bands. When asked about his child hood, Keith jokes,” after a few years of young kids playing their music and making a lot of noise, the desire to develop further as a serious musician continued to grow through the years.”
While playing trumpet in the Fort Mill High School Band (GO JACKETS) and guitars in garage bands, Keith unknowingly was taking a path that would lead to many adventures. One of which was performing as a solo act in Hernandos Western Steak House in Okinawa, Japan while serving the United States Marine Corps in the late 70’s. After returning home to Fort Mill, the music was changing and so were the clothes, but the desire to pursue his music career continued.
After filling many slots in various bands such as “The Counterfeiters” with father Ken and over 15 years with a group called “Whiskey” performing at the Charles McGuirt American Legion in Waxhaw, NC., Keith’s years of practice and patience paid off as he was afforded the position of lead guitar player for the famous “Archie Campbell and the Pilgrims’ Hee Haw Road Show” in the early 80’s until the untimely death of Campbell. Yet now
