Sam Utah is a stage name. It was originally a name picked for fun but it has stuck over the years. Sam Utah is an improvisational electronic music composer. He has been experimenting with synthesizers and electronic music for 30 yrs or so and composes in style described mostly as New Age Classical but it is electronic music with an ethereal and spacious quality.
The name Sam Utah comes from Frank Herbert's novel, Dune, where he describes an addicting kind of music called "samuteh" that goes along with the "spice".
