Peter developed his playing technique through classical training under concert pianist Shirley Rodgers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fascinated by improvisation and modern harmony, he later studied jazz and played in ensembles in U.C. Berkeley and Stanford. After moving to Los Angeles, he cut his teeth on the Sunset Strip, playing in bands such as Konxius, 66, and Freshly Baked, learning styles as varied as funk, pop, rock, metal, and country. He has recorded with artists such as Doug Pinnick (King’s X), H.R. (Bad Brains), Tracy Singleton (Fishbone), and Gioia Bruno (Expose). His music has been featured in films such as The Assasination of Richard Nixon (ThinkFilm, with Sean Penn) and The Polar Express (Warner Brothers, with Tom Hanks). Peter is co-founder of The Original Position along with production partner Ryan Hale. This team offers a full range of music production services, including songwriting, arrangement, recording, mixing/mastering, and sound design. The Original Position specializes in cross-genre production and MIDI orchestration.
